Day 1: Brasov – Gura Humorului – Humorului Monastery – Moldovita Monastery – Sucevita
Decorated eggs is an old tradition with big importance in Romania. So by this the Painted Egg Museum creates the perfect place to bring all the masterpieces. The museum has 3000 exhibits from all over the world, but mostly from Romania.
The Voronet Monastery is a medieval monastery that was created by Stephen the Great in 1488. Yet the most known thing about it, are the exterior frescoes made with bright and very intense colors.
Moldovita Monastery built in 1532 by Petru Rares, a ruler of does times.The back idea of the church was to be a barrier against the Ottoman Muslim Empire. As Voronet, has frescoes that present the life of Jesus
Day 2: Sucevita – Sucevita Monastery – Marginea village– Putna Monastery– Bicaz Gorge - The Red Lake - Brasov
The last day starts with Sucevita Monastery, built in 1585. This amazing orthodox monastery combines the gothic and byzantine with typical elements known only for the northern monasteries.Both interior and exterior are covered with mural paintings.
Marginea Village it will be the second stop, where you find a very unique place that is inhabited by 9000 people. But the unique thing for what is this place known in the world is the black pottery. Besides this you'll find amazing old houses built in traditional way.
Putna Monastery was built before Stephen the Grate conquered the Kilia citadel and was dedicated as a thanks to God. Also the monastery is dedicated to Virgin Mary. Also is believed that Stephen the Great was buried under this monastery.
Red Lake is the largest barrier lake in the Eastern Carpathians. The name comes from the reddish alluvial deposited in the lake. The lake formed in 187 after many storms and a huge piece of rock separated from the Killer mountain.
Bicaz Gorge is right downstream the Red Lake and was dug by the Bicaz river. The road that is inside the Gorge looks like serpentine windings. These beautiful limy walls are hiding some spectacular caves.
